When is the best time to shoot?
For outdoors, the best time to shoot is during golden hours. That is during sunrise and sunset. Which occurs an hour or two after sunrise and an hour or two before sunset.
-
Sunrise or sunset?
In terms of picture quality, there’s not much of a difference. But, they do have their pros and cons.
-
Why sunrise?
Sunrise is my personal favorite time to shoot! Just as long as you can overcome the cons.
Pros: Fewer people, less traffic, not rushed against time, you are full of energy, and there is more time to find the perfect shot! Fewer people in the mornings mean fewer people to bump into and more freedom to be creative.
Cons: You have to wake up early! If you are not a morning person this will be a struggle. For the ladies, this means waking up extra early to prep hair and makeup. But the sacrifice is worth the struggle!

When is the worst time to shoot?
The worst conditions to shoot are under direct intense sunlight, such as in the middle of the day with no cloud cover. Even though sunny days are very beautiful, the intense sunlight creates harsh shadows on your face that will make your pictures look unappealing. The heat will also make you sweat more, squint your eyes more, and will make you look tired. For makeup users, this will be very uncomfortable.
Shooting pictures is still possible as long as the subject is under an even shadow.
